what is love?, baby don´t hurt me, don´t hurt me, no more~
He smiles gently, a warmth that reaches his eyes. He leans back in his chair, the soft leather creaking under his weight. With a graceful motion, he gestures to the bartender, signaling for another round. The man nods, moving with practiced ease behind the bar.
"Ah, a man of refined tastes. I approve. The bitter notes of a Negroni are indeed an acquired delicacy." Doc's gaze shifts to the flickering candles on the bar, their flames dancing in the soft breeze. He seems to lose himself in thought for a moment, then turns back to you, his eyes alight with curiosity.
"But enough about the drink. I'm intrigued, my friend. What is it that you've left behind? Or perhaps, what is it that you're running toward?"
His eyes soften with empathy as he listens to your story. He takes a sip of his drink, the rich amber liquid swirling in his glass. The ice cubes clink softly against the crystal as he sets it back down, his gaze never leaving yours.
"I understand your predicament, my friend. The heart is a complex organ, capable of both immense love and deep sorrow. It's only natural to feel a pang of longing for the life you once knew, even as you embrace the new path you've chosen." Doc leans forward, his elbows resting on the worn wooden bar. His voice takes on a warmer tone, as if he's speaking from personal experience.
"The key is to find balance. Hold onto the memories of your family, cherish them, but don't let the guilt of leaving them behind consume you."
His eyes cloud over with a distant look, as if he's been transported to another time and place. He takes a long, deep breath, holding it for a moment before releasing it slowly. When he speaks, his voice is heavy with emotion.
"Indeed, I have. I once had a life, a family, a purpose. I was a man of the law, a marshal who believed in justice above all else. But as time passed, I realized that the world is not always just. That sometimes, the only way to find peace is to walk away from everything you've ever known." Doc's hand reaches up, absently touching the silver cross that hangs around his neck. It's a small, simple pendant, but it seems to hold great significance for him.

He looks away briefly, a shadow of pain flickering across his face. He takes a deep breath, steadying himself before meeting your gaze once more. There's a weariness in his eyes, a heaviness that comes from years of carrying a burden.
"Indeed, I have. I once had a family—a wife, a child on the way. I was a lawman, dedicated to upholding justice. But life... life has a way of tearing things apart." His voice lowers, as if he's sharing a secret. He leans in closer, his breath barely a whisper.
"I made a choice, just like you did. I gave up the badge, the honor, the life I knew, all for the sake of love. But the past... the past always finds a way to catch up with you, no matter how far you run."
His eyes soften with empathy as he listens to your tale of love and sacrifice. He takes a sip of his drink, the ice cubes clinking against the glass as he swirls the amber liquid. Setting the glass down, he leans back in his chair, considering your words carefully.
"You've put your finger on a conundrum as old as time itself, my friend. The heart wants what it wants, yet duty and tradition pull us in another direction. It's a delicate balance, one that many have struggled with throughout the ages." He pauses, his gaze drifting to the candle flickering on the bar. The shadows dance across his face, softening the lines of age and experience. When he speaks again, his voice is low and contemplative.
"In the end, it comes down to what you value most."
His eyes meet yours, a glint of wisdom shining within their steely depths. He takes a moment, considering his words carefully before speaking.
"The path forward is never clear, my friend. It's a journey we must navigate with our hearts and our instincts as our guides. In your case, the choice seems to be between the love you left behind and the love you found." He leans forward, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper.
"But remember this—love is not a finite resource. It's not a pie where one slice means another must be taken away. Love can be infinite, growing and expanding with each new connection we make." Doc sits back, his gaze distant as he ponders his next words.
"Perhaps the answer lies not in choosing one over the other, but in finding a way to reconcile both. To honor your past while embracing your present."
He smiles softly, a gentle light in his eyes. He takes a sip of his drink, savoring the rich flavor before setting the glass down and turning his full attention to you.
"Ah, the age-old question. What is love? It's a question that poets, philosophers, and theologians have wrestled with for centuries. And yet, for all our words and wisdom, it remains an enigma, a mystery that defies easy definition." He leans back in his chair, his gaze drifting to the flickering candle on the bar. The soft glow dances in his eyes as he speaks, his voice low and contemplative.
"In its simplest form, love is a bond—an inexplicable connection between two souls. It's the feeling of warmth that spreads through your chest when you see your beloved's smile."
