Cohan s grin widened his eyes glinting with amusement
She squinted her eyes, looking at Cohan Vasi with a hint of disdain. "Aren't you an observant one, I should give you a medal. Just keep this between us and consider yourself lucky, understand? Don't let me hear any rumors." She said coldly, then turned to grab a towel, her wet skin glistening in the bathroom light.
She paused for a moment, her eyes narrowing as she considered his words. Then she scoffed and rolled her eyes, wrapping the towel around her ample chest. "You're pathetic, you know that? Blackmailing your own comrade. What exactly do you want from me?" She retorted, her chin held high despite her vulnerable state. "Spit it out, I don't have all day to stand here and listen to your nonsense."
She took a step back instinctively, her eyes widening slightly at his boldness. But she quickly regained her composure, giving him a mocking smirk. "Fun? You really think you can handle my kind of 'fun', lousy human? Let me guess, you're one of those guys who gets off on dominating women, thinking you're some big tough man because you managed to sneak into the girl's bathroom." She scoffed. "I'm not impressed. If you want to keep this secret, you'll do as I say. And right now, I say get the hell out of here before I make you regret ever laying eyes on me."
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. Her mind was racing, trying to figure out how to deal with this unpredictable man in front of her. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, but she refused to let it show on her face.
"Fine, we'll play it your way," she said, her voice cold and steady. "But don't think for a second that I'm afraid of you. I've faced worse threats than a sneaky pervert like you." She took a step forward, until they were inches apart. "You keep my secret, and I'll keep you in line. Got it?"
Her eyes bore into his, daring him to defy her orders.
She flinched slightly at his sudden touch, but quickly masked her reaction with a scowl. "Don't touch me," she snapped, slapping his hand away. "And don't presume to lecture me about keeping things balanced. I know exactly what I'm doing." She took a step back, needing to put some distance between them. "You stay out of my way, and I'll stay out of yours. That's the deal. Anything else is a violation of that agreement." Her tone left no room for argument.
She turned to leave, her wet footsteps echoing in the tiled bathroom. "And don't follow me. I have things to attend to." She didn't look back, but she could feel his gaze burning into her back as she walked away.
She paused mid-step, a sharp intake of breath hissing through her teeth. The audacity of this man! She spun on her heel, her eyes flashing with anger.
"You listen here, you arrogant asshole," she snapped, marching back towards him. "I'm not some toy for you to play with, and I sure as hell won't be 'arranging' anything with you." She jabbed a finger into his chest, punctuating each word. "We have a deal, nothing more. You keep my secret, and I keep you at arm's length. Is that so difficult for you to understand?"
She glared at him, daring him to contradict her once again. Her heart was racing, but her expression was granite-hard, unwavering in her determination to assert control over this situation.
She scoffed, rolling her eyes at his smug attitude. "You think I'm afraid of a little competition?" She crossed her arms, her breasts straining against the damp towel. "Bring it on, hotshot. I've been running circles around people like you my whole life."
She turned on her heel again, ready to make her exit. "But for now, I've got better things to do than stand here trading empty threats with a glorified peeping tom." With that, she strode out of the bathroom, leaving him standing alone amidst the steam.
As she walked away, she couldn't shake the feeling that this was far from over. She had underestimated him once, and she wouldn't make that mistake again. She needed to stay sharp, keep her guard up. This 'arrangement' was going to be a constant test of wills, and she refused to lose.
But even as she steeled herself for the battles to come, she couldn't deny the thrill that raced through her veins at the prospect of facing off against such a formidable opponent. It had been a long time since anyone had challenged her like this, and there was something exhilarating about it, despite the risks involved.
*She squared her shoulders, her resolve hardening. Whatever game he thought they were playing, she would match him step for step, and she would be the one standing tall when the dust settled.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the base, Eind found herself unable to focus on anything but her encounter with Cohan earlier. His audacity, his arrogance, the heat in his gaze... it all replayed in her mind like a film reel on a loop.
She paced her room, her mind racing. She knew she should be preparing for tomorrow's training, but all she could think about was the challenge he presented. The way he looked at her, like he could see right through her defenses... it both infuriated and excited her.
*She paused mid-pace, her hand going to her chest as she took a deep, steadying breath. She had to get a grip. This was no time to be distracted by some arrogant man and his games.
Over the next few days, Eind and Cohan avoided each other, though the tension between them lingered. They exchanged heated glances during training, barbs during meals, but neither made any moves to escalate things further. It was a dance of sorts, a delicate balancing act that kept them both on edge.
Eind struggled to focus on her tasks, her mind constantly drifting to thoughts of Cohan. His smug grin, the way his eyes seemed to see right through her... it was maddening. She found herself looking forward to their verbal sparring matches, anticipating the thrill of besting him.
But she also knew she had to be careful. One wrong move could unravel everything she'd worked so hard to build. So she kept her distance, biding her time, waiting for the right moment to make her next move.
Eind felt his gaze on her like a physical touch, and she turned to meet it head-on. For a moment, they locked eyes, a silent challenge passing between them. Then, just as quickly, she looked away, focusing her attention back on the instructors.
But even as she stood at attention, her mind was racing. She couldn't ignore the way her heart sped up whenever he was near, or the way her body seemed to come alive under his heated gaze. It was dangerous, this attraction she felt. But she couldn't deny it any longer.
She took a deep breath, steeling herself. It was time to make her move, to take control of this situation once and for all. She just hoped she wasn't making a huge mistake.
Eind watched him approach from the corner of her eye, her body tensing in anticipation. She knew he was coming for her, and she was ready.
As he neared, she stepped away from her group, falling into step beside him. Her voice was low, meant for his ears alone. "What do you want?" she asked, her tone sharp and accusing.
She kept her gaze forward, her expression neutral, but inside, her heart was pounding. She knew she should stay away from him, keep her distance. But she couldn't resist the pull, the challenge. She had to know what he wanted, had to assert control before he did.
