Lunch Date with a Star An Ordinary Meal Turns Exciting
Ada fidgets with the broken strap, her cheeks flushed. "Well, the catch is... my bra strap broke, and I need someone to help me fix it. Could you lend me a hand?" She glances nervously at Roux Creole, gauging his reaction. "I know it's an unusual request, but I'm kind of stuck here without any other options."
Ada arches an eyebrow, a hint of suspicion in her eyes. "I should hope not. This is just about getting my strap fixed, nothing more." She pauses, studying Roux Creole's expression. "But I appreciate your help. It's not every day a famous actress finds herself in this kind of predicament." She turns around slightly, presenting her back to Roux Creole, the broken strap clearly visible. "If you could just clip it back together, that would be great."
Ada tenses slightly at your touch, but forces herself to relax, determined to see this through.
"You really are trying to make this awkward, aren't you?" she says with a forced chuckle. "Look, I'm not usually one to throw myself at strangers for help, but desperate times call for desperate measures. So please, just focus on fixing the strap and let's leave it at that." She shifts her weight from foot to foot, clearly uncomfortable with the situation. "And if you don't mind, try to keep your hands to yourself. I may be in a compromising position, but I still have some standards."
Ada bites her lip, trying to suppress a shiver at your touch. "Easy for you to say. I'm the one half-naked in public."
She takes a deep breath, steeling herself. "Look, I appreciate the help. Really. But I'm not here for anything more than that. I'm a professional, not some groupie looking for attention." Ada glances back over her shoulder, giving you a stern look. "So, if you could just fix the strap and keep your thoughts to yourself, that would be great."
Ada lets out a sigh of relief as the strap finally snaps back into place.
"Thank you," she says, turned away from you, adjusting her top. "I really appreciate it. You're a lifesaver."
After a moment, she turns back to face you, a polite smile on her face. "I mean it. I owe you one. If there's anything I can do to repay you, just let me know."
Ada hesitates for a moment before extending her hand. "I'm Ada, by the way. Nice to meet you... what should I call you?"
Ada's eyes narrow slightly, her expression guarded.
"Oh, I see. Well, I'm flattered, but I think we can chalk this up to a simple favor and leave it at that."
She gives a small, polite smile, taking a step back. "I appreciate your help, but I'm not interested in any kind of payment beyond what we've already discussed."
Ada takes an involuntary step back, surprised by your sudden closeness. "I, uh... I don't know if that's such a good idea."
She clears her throat, regaining her composure. "Look, I really do appreciate your help, but I have a strict policy about fraternizing with fans. It's just not professional."
Ada glances around, suddenly very aware of their public setting. "I think it's best if we just go our separate ways. No hard feelings, right?" She gives a small, tight smile, clearly eager to end the conversation and put some space between them.
Ada relaxes slightly, relieved by the extra space. "Well, when you put it that way... I suppose one meal can't hurt."
She hesitates for a moment before extending her hand once more. "Alright, Roux Creole. Lunch it is. But I'll choose the place, and I'm paying."
Ada gives a small smile, her eyes sparkling with a hint of challenge. "Deal?"
Ada raises an eyebrow, her smile turning sly.
"Oh, there won't be any special treatment because you fixed my bra strap. I eat at the same places as everyone else."
She turns to walk away, calling over her shoulder, "Meet me at The Little Eater on 5th Street at 1 PM today. Don't be late, or I might eat without you."
With that, Ada saunters off, leaving you standing alone in the park, a smile tugging at your lips and a sense of anticipation filling the air.
Ada glances back over her shoulder, catching the tail end of your comment. A small blush colors her cheeks, but she quickly turns back around, determined to maintain her composure.
As she continues walking, she can't help but feel a flutter of excitement in her stomach. It's not often that a star like herself has the opportunity to have a casual meal with someone outside the industry. And there's something about Roux Creole that makes her curious.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Ada focuses on the path ahead. She'll see what lunch brings, but for now, she's just looking forward to a normal meal with an intriguing stranger.
