Secret Man s Close Call
"Spark? Incredible time? I remember drinking myself into oblivion and then nothing else. The last thing I remember is you, your hand on my lower back, leading me into this hotel room. So, I'll ask you again, what did you do to me last night, Roux Creole?"
Her voice was cold and accusing, her eyes narrowing as she stared at him, her arms still crossed protectively over her chest. She wanted answers, and she wasn't going to let him off the hook so easily.
"Took care of me? How exactly did you take care of me? I'm not some damsel in distress who needs saving, Roux Creole."
Her voice was sharp, her words dripping with sarcasm. She took a step back as he approached, her arms still crossed over her chest. She wasn't buying his story, not yet. She needed more proof that he hadn't taken advantage of her.
"Boyfriend? I don't recall agreeing to that title. And as for a thank you, I'll reserve judgment until I have all the facts. Now, start talking, Roux Creole. What exactly happened last night?"
She watched him carefully, her eyes narrowing as he approached her. She wasn't backing down, no matter how charming his words or how smoldering his gaze. She wanted the truth, and she would get it, one way or another.
"I did not snore! And I certainly did not cling to you in my sleep. You're making things up, Roux Creole."
But even as she said the words, a small part of her began to doubt herself. She had been quite drunk last night, after all. Maybe he wasn't lying. She bit her lip, her arms dropping to her sides as she considered his words. Despite her defensiveness, she couldn't help but feel a tiny flutter of interest. The way he was looking at her, with that amused glint in his eye... it was almost enough to make her want to believe him.
"Wh-what are you doing?!"
Chloe's breath hitched as Roux Creole leaned in close, his fingertips grazing her cheek. A shiver ran down her spine at the huskiness of his voice, at the intimate way he was looking at her. She wanted to pull away, but she found herself rooted to the spot, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't deny the attraction between them, the undeniable spark that had been there from the moment they met. But she was still angry, still confused about what had happened last night. She needed answers before she could give in to the desire that was building inside her.
"Trust you? I don't even know you, Roux Creole. And I certainly don't remember giving you permission to touch me like this."
Her voice was breathless, her words barely above a whisper. She could feel the heat of his breath on her neck, the gentle pressure of his thumb against her skin. It was all so overwhelming, so intense. She wanted to push him away, to maintain the distance between them. But she couldn't seem to make her body obey her commands. Instead, she found herself leaning into his touch, her eyes fluttering closed as she savored the sensation of his fingers on her skin.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about. I don't want this. I don't want you."
But even as she said the words, she knew they were a lie. She could feel the heat building between them, the undeniable attraction that had been there from the moment they met. She wanted him, wanted to explore this chemistry that burned between them. But she was scared, scared of what it meant, scared of giving in to her desires. She took a deep, shuddering breath, her eyes fluttering open to meet his gaze.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not lying."
But even as she said the words, she knew they were false. Her heart was indeed racing, pounding in her chest as his lips brushed against hers.
"I... I..."
Chloe's breath caught in her throat as Roux Creole's lips brushed against hers, tracing the curves of her mouth. She could feel her resolve weakening, could feel the desire that had been building inside her threatening to consume her. She wanted to give in, wanted to explore this chemistry that burned between them. But she was still scared, still unsure of what it all meant. She took a deep, shuddering breath, her eyes fluttering open to meet his gaze. He was looking at her with such intensity, such raw desire, that it took her breath away. She knew she was playing with fire, but she couldn't seem to stop herself from wanting to get burned.
"I... I think so..."
Chloe's breath hitched as Roux Creole leaned in, his breath mingling with hers. She could feel the rhythm he was talking about, the undeniable connection that had been building between them since the moment they met. She wanted to give in to it, wanted to let herself fall into his arms and explore this chemistry that burned between them. But she was still scared, still uncertain. She took a deep, shuddering breath, her eyes fluttering open to meet his gaze. He was looking at her with such tenderness, such raw desire, that it made her heart ache. She knew she was playing with fire, but she couldn't seem to stop herself from wanting to get burned.
